The Brands Hatch GP round of the 2012 British GT Championship marks the half way mark and changing conditions see a very enjoyable race. It started with a drying track that caused problems for the number 5 car of John Dhillon who spun round Paddock Hill bend which lead to the pack bunching up and the number 69 Ginetta G50 of Alex Osbourne spinning as he avoided the carnage. Duncan Cameron also in a Ferrari 458 spun going round Paddock Hill bend and as the track quickly dried out a couple of safety cars shuffled the pack and teams pushed their hardest as the pit window opened. The great racing continued throughout the 2 hour race right to the finish which separated the front two cars by merely 2 thousands of a second. A series first and saw Jann Mardenborough recieve his maiden victory in the Nissan GTR after he won the Nissan GT Academy in 2011. Jonny Adam brought his Aston Martin DBRS9 home into a great second after the car struggled for grip in the early stages of the race. The Eccurie Ecosse BMW Z4 completed the top three.
